MARYVILLE, Tenn. – Carl Tipton of Seymour passed away Saturday, April 18, 2009 at the family home.  He attended Chilhowee Baptist Church.  Carl served in the United States Army during World War II.  Carl will be loved and greatly missed by his family and friends.  Survivors include: Wife of over 50 years, Belle Tipton; Sons, Joseph Tipton and Mark Tipton both of Seymour; Daughters, Grace Pool of Fla. and Kathy Day of Townsend; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  Funeral service will be at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, April 23, 2009 at Smith Trinity Chapel.  Family and friends will assemble at 2 p.m., Friday, April 24, 2009 at Grandview Cemetery.  Family will receive friends from 6 until 7:30 p.m., Thursday, April 23, 2009 at Smith Trinity Chapel.  Arrangements by Smith Funeral & Cremation Service, Maryville.
