William Elmer Burchfield Sr.

WALLAND, Tenn. — William Elmer Burchfield Sr., age 88, of Walland, died Saturday, June 21, 2009, at Blount Memorial Hospital.  He was a member of Friendly Hill Baptist Church, Townsend.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Rosalie Rollins Burchfield; daughters, Wanda Burchfield Whitehead, Sandra Kay Burchfield; sons, Ralph Lamar Burchfield, Jackie Burchfield; nine brothers and sisters.  Survivors include his son, William Elmer Burchfield Jr., of Cherokee, N.C.; son and daughter-in-law, J.D. and Becky Burchfield of Walland; son, David O. Burchfield of Sevierville; daughter, Sara Eads of Walland; daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Joseph King of Sevierville; special grandsons, Roger (Buffy) Burchfield, and Shaun Burchfield; 17 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and friends.  The funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 23, 2009, at Friendly Hill Baptist Church in Townsend, with the Rev. Fate Green officiating.  Interment followed at Walden’s Creek Cemetery in Sevier County.  Arrangements by Dotson Funeral Home, Wildwood.
