278th Armored Cavalry Regiment mobilization effects 45 Tennessee towns

NASHVILLE — When Tennessee’s 278th Armored Cavalry Regiment (ACR) mobilizes later this year, forty-five Tennessee communities will be affected.  278th ACR units from the following towns will mobilize:

Ashland City, Athens, Clarksville, Clinton, Columbia, Cookeville, Covington, Crossville, Dayton, Dunlap, Gallatin, Gordonsville, Greeneville, Henderson, Humboldt, Huntingdon, Jamestown, Kingsport, Knoxville, Lafayette, Lebanon, Lewisburg, Livingston, Lobelville, Maryville, McKenzie, McMinnville, Memphis, Milan, Monteagle, Nashville, New Tazewell, Newport, Oneida, Parsons, Pigeon Forge, Rockwood, Rogersville, Selmer, Shelbyville, Smyrna, Springfield, Sweetwater, Waynesboro, and Winchester.

Townsend is adjacent to both Maryville and Pigeon Forge, and is in close proximity to Knoxville.
