Direct descendant of the Olivers of Cades Cove
Edith F. Oliver Hembree, 83, of Maryville passed away Friday, August 21, 2009 at Blount Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Hembree, a direct descendant of the Olivers of Cades Cove, was born in Townsend, Tenn. to Elder Cary and Ida Ellen Oliver. Mrs. Hembree was a member of Headricks Chapel Primitive Baptist Church. Mrs. Hembree was preceded in death by her husband: Carlos M. Hembree Sr.; parents: Cary and Ida Oliver; brothers: Robert, Junior Ray, and Donald Eugene Oliver; and sister: Margie Burns. Survivors include: daughter and son-in-law: Carol and Tommy Bradam; sons and daughters-in-law: Carlos Jr. and Billie Hembree, and Steve and Linda Hembree; grandsons and spouses: Johnny Hembree, Brian and Jamie Hembree, Michael and Kathy Bradam, Mickey and Adele Bradam, Dakota Eagle of Maryville, and Jason Hembree of Knoxville; granddaughter: Carrie Mason of Charleston, S.C.; great-grandchildren: Samantha Hembree, Christopher Bradam, Thomas, Matthew and Haliegh Hembree; brother and Sister-in-law Roy and Emma Lou Oliver of Maryville; and sister and brother-in-law: Gladys and Jim Burns of Walland. Funeral services will be 8 p.m. Monday, August 24, 2009 at Memorial Funeral Home in Maryville with Elder Kenneth Sullivan officiating. Family and Friends will meet 10:15 a.m. Tuesday, August 25, 2009 at Memorial Funeral Home to proceed to Caylors Chapel for an 11 a.m. graveside service.
