Elmer H. Peterson, 1946-2009

Elmer H. Peterson, 63, of Louisville, passed away August 30th, at U.T. Hospital.   Mr. Peterson was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving during the Vietnam War.  He was a magician, ventriloquist, artist and Sunday School teacher.  He had recently retired from U.P.S., Callahan Road, after 30 years.  Mr. Peterson is survived by his parents, Ben and Vergie Peterson; brother, Jesse Peterson, Knoxville; son, Bobby and daughter-in-law, Beth; grandchildren, Isabelle and Ben, Abingdon, Va.; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Olive and Gene Davis, Maryville; special family, Johnny, Cay, and J.J. Campbell, all of Louisville; and John Harper of Maryville.  He was dearly loved and respected by his nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless people he came in contact with over the years.  Family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 2, 2009, from 6-8 p.m. at Immanuel United Methodist Church, 2349 Mentor Road, Louisville, Tenn., with funeral services to follow.  Rev. Bill Adams and Rev. Bill Shelton officiating.  Entombment services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday at Sherwood Chapel & Memorial Gardens, Alcoa, in the Mausoleum Chapel.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in memory of Elmer to the American Cancer Society, 871 N.
