Harrison Richard Sands, 1935-2009

Harrison Richard Sands of Friendsville, born April 14, 1935, passed away Oct. 11, 2009 at his home at the age of 74.  He was proceeded in death by his parents, Claude and Hazel Breeden Sands; daughter, Sharon Lynn Sands; grandson, Richard Boring; brothers, John, Roy, and Glenn; sisters, Geraldine Ogle, Betty Everett, Trulamae Wilburn, Martha Cogburn, Dorothy French, and Juanita Stewart.  He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Joyce M. Lindsey Sands; sons and daughters-in-law, Charles Wayne and Kathy Sands, Ricky L. and Melissa Sands, Gerald E. and Brenda Sands; daughters, Janet Sands and Bernetta Sisk; grandchildren, Clint Millsaps, Charles Ryan Sands, Tangela and J.R. Thacker, April and Charles McAdams, Beth and James Coffman, Nicholas A. Sands, Kendra B. and J.C. Weeks, Adrian N. Breeden, Kattie L. Breeden, Dove Long; great-grandchildren, Jacob Thacker, Breanna Thacker, Blake, Caden, and Xavier, Joseph Mullholland, Aaron Mullholland, Sarah Coffman, Brinna Coffman, Rebecca (Becky) Reynolds, Hillary N. Pressley; brothers, James Sands, and Leo Sands all of Tennessee, and William Sands of California, Ky.  Funeral services will be at 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2009 at Memorial Funeral Home in Maryville, Tenn. with Rev. Ron Oliver and Rev. Steve Pratt officiating.  The family and friends will meet at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2009 at Zion Chapel Cemetery for graveside services.  The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Funeral Home.
